THE EXPERIENCE

Primary education at Edgewood Campus School focuses on the individual child as we prepare the students for their elementary school journey. We approach learning with curiosity, engagement and persistence, invention and imagination, and cognitive skills. We offer an age-appropriate academic environment with play.

THE CURRICULUM

We have a comprehensive, cohesive, literacy program that is based on the Science of Reading; our program contains developmentally appropriate literature, phonics, lessons and activities that are designed to nurture growth in all areas of development. A variety of additional resources are used to support and challenge students to meet their individual needs. Hands-on math and science are also an integral part of the primary experience. The outdoors and a place-based mindset are integral to our students' learning experience.

The primary program covers standards-based content with an emphasis on cultivating students' 21st century skills including creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking and innovation. Students receive age appropriate instruction in Literacy, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science and Religion.

Special subject teachers instruct the children in art, music, physical education, library, Spanish, and technology. A guidance counselor provides a program that enriches our students with important life and social-emotional life skills.
